I have been to a lot of gigs, and its quite hard to think of my favourite! I wrote about how much I loved Leeds Festival for my 21st birthday the other day and I think some of the best acts I’ve ever seen have been there including Radiohead and Marilyn Manson.
Actual gigs I’ve been to though have been amazing. I can’t narrow it down to one favourite but I saw one of my favourite bands, Funeral For a Friend, more than 20 times before they split up and one of those was when I was pregnant with Spike which was the best experience ever as she was moving to the beat! I also managed to see my absolute favourite band Good Charlotte before they went on their hiatus in 2008 and got to meet them afterwards, and I saw my other favourite band, Brand New, last year in the smallest venue ever which was incredible.
I think I have to give a shout out to Amanda Palmer too though, she is my favourite female vocalist in the world and I think she’s incredible as an artist and as a person. I managed to see her in Manchester a few years ago when she playing inside the Cathedral and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
I love music and I don’t think I’d do well stopping going to gigs. I love the atmosphere and the feeling you get when you watch a band playing live and even love that ringing in your ear after!
