Being prepared on a day out – dealing with the inevitable with a little help from Safe and Sound Health

This post was written in collaboration with Safe and Sound Health , but all words and pictures are my own. Spike is so accident prone. She falls on also every day out we have. So in addition to the standard lunches and water bottles, I like to be prepared with the essentials like kids plasters whenever possible. Our trip to Grizedale Forest Last week we made the most of the sunshine and headed to our nearest Forestry Commission Forest, Grizedale. We’d spent New Year’s Day here and loved it. We spend a lot of our weekends travelling out to places like thi. Spike loves to explore and me and T…

Midweek cocktails and flower arranging with Moonpig – Spending time with other bloggers from the comfort of home!

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the Moonpig Virtual Blogger Event. And man am I glad I attended! It was so nicex to see other bloggers faces live again. Instagram is great but its not the same. And the team at Moonpig did an amazing job of catering to our needs too! Over the few days prior to the event some big boxes appeared, which contained flowers, cocktail making kits, balloons and gifts from Moonpig. Exploring the moon pig app The event started with Jasper walking us through the Moonpig app. I didn’t realise just how good the Moonpig app was. I’ve used the website a…

Taking her dreams with her – a Dreamimals Daydreamimals review

Spike was lucky enough to be gifted a Dreamimals keycharm a few weeks ago. She’s always writing and drawing and I thought it would be a great little gift for her to take her dreams with her to school every day. The Dreamimal Dream Pillow  The Dream Pillow was the original Dreamimal. A large, soft pillow with a pillow opening where your child can place pieces of paper. Your child is encouraged to write or draw what they want to dream about on the pillow then they take the pillow to bed with them. It helps build a positive attitude towards sleeping and has helped many children form a lovely…

Keeping the 3rd bedroom room from turning into the junk room! – Finding the the ideal storage solutions with Wayfair

In our previous house we had two reception rooms, and a separate kitchen, as well as an outside room that was perfect for storing bikes, chest freezers etc. The understairs cupboard houses all our Christmas decorations, the hoover, our mounds of memory boxes. There were 3 bedrooms, and a huge cupboard on the stairs for towels, bedding etc. The new house, lets just say its much, much smaller. However, the front reception room was literally a junk room… Being smart with our space  We have moved to a new build.  There is no understairs storage (It’s a toilet). The living room and kitchen are open plan. There’s two grass filled gardens,…

Finding our favourite Paw Patrol characters – The Brickburn Paw Patrol trail

This bank holiday we were lucky enough to spend time with our friends in the sun. Looking for something exciting to keep the kids entertained we thought the ‘Brickburn’ Trail would be fun!  What is Brickburn?  Featuring Lego built statues from kids hit show Paw Patrol, the World’s First Paw Patrol Brick Trail takes place this week, for one week only, in Blackburn town centre. Pick up a map, and head to the 15 locations, following the trail to answer the questions about the statues. Pirates, 2p machines and a fun filled birthday – Our trip to Coral Island Blackpool

Blackpool holds a special place in my heart. For many people images of hen and stag dos, and cheap holidays when they think of Blackpool. But I don’t. I think of amazing things. Things like quiet, foggy, windy days on the pier in February. The special memories made with T for our 6 month anniversary just before I went away for 3 weeks and missed him so much that I knew that would be the longest time we’d ever spend apart. The first zoo trip Spike ever made. The first time she saw the circus. And multiple day trips spent at the 2p machines after watching the aeroplanes at the…

“I just want a crown please…. And a new fairy skirt” – Gift guide for an unusual four year old

My child doesn’t follow any rules. She likes what she likes, does what she wants and is as stubborn as a mule. She loves going out and about and will find fun and excitement in anything. Tonight it was a snail shell found on the back doorstep. Which has gone to bed with her. Let’s hope there’s no snail still in it!  Due to this, it’s proven quite difficult for us to decide what to get her for her 4th birthday… don’t get me started on the fact she’s turning 4, I’m in bits. There’s nothing she needs, and not a great deal she’s taken a keen interest in. The…

Celebrating 30 cracking years of Wallace and Gromit – Wallace and Gromit’s Musical Marvels Tour review

On Saturday we headed along to Blackpool Pleasure Beach to enjoy an afternoon showing of Wallace and Gromit’s Musical Marvels. The show took place in the Blackpool Pleasure Beach Arena and Spike loved our journey to the Area as she got to see the rollercoasters and hear all the sounds of the Pleasure Beach. Blackpool Pleasure Beach Arena We headed to the show a little early to get to our seats. The arena was easy to find, with the box office area featuring a little refreshments area, a few souvenirs and an area selling programmes and kids activity packs. What made it more exciting was the fact that Wallace and…

Fun in the sun at Tatton Park Farm – An Easter adventure thanks to our Buckt box

I’ve written about our Buckt box a few times in the past and praised it for how good it is for those date day or night planning activities with your partner. However, it occasionally has some great activities for you to enjoy as a family, with the kids too. Our March box had a few activities which were perfect for this including entry to Tatton Park Farm Tatton Park Farm This working farm’s history goes back decades. It still features all the same machinery etc as it did in the 1940s so its essentially somewhere where time has ‘stood still’. You can see how old it is as soon as…
