On Saturday 15th October Me, Spike and T donned our wellies and went for a special walk. It was a #WalkWithWynsors, as in Wynsors World of Shoes, and it was awesome.
Taking place at one of my all time favourite places, this was Wynsors 2nd walking event. We met at Brockholes Conference Centre (Brockholes being the nature reserve where my baby shower was!) and went on a short walk round the reserve. We only really saw a small part of the reserve but I loved being out and about, and so did Spike!
I donned some very sexy brand new BOGS wellies that were sent to me from BOGS/Wynsors. They were bright red so I was worried about standing out too much but they soon got covered in mud so were camouflaged a fair bit! Spike wore her bargain Catamini wellies that I bought in the sale months ago and feared she’d never got to wear! T wore his boots… not walking ones, that would be sensible…
The walk we went on was around 40 mins long and took us down by the river. We then looped back round to the playground – which Spike thoroughly enjoyed! I took the sling expecting not to be able to push a buggy round but saw a fellow blogger manage hers. Spike decided to take offence to the sling though and preferred to be carried by daddy or walk!
Brockholes really is a beautiful place with its trails taking you by the River Ribble. It’s so peaceful and full of wildlife – mainly plants and birds – and you can see for miles around. There are parts of it quite close to the motorway, which is mostly drowned out by scenery. Its run by the Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside Wildlife Trust and they are so good at keeping it maintained. The floating visitor centre and the reserve itself is free to visit and it really makes for a lovely day. I adore walking around it.
The walk and play was followed by a fantastic lunch provided by the reserve in the conference centre. Spike loved looking out over the water in the centre and I loved our goodie bags from Wynsors! Now that I’ve seen how much Spike enjoyed it there I will definitely be back!
